Over the past 30 years, Sylvie Potvin has truly emerged as one of Quebec’s most celebrated comedic actresses.

On the big screen, she portrayed a vampire baroness in the horror-comedy classic Karmina, was a tap-dancing parakeet in the popular children’s TV series Cornemuse, and played larger-than-life Linda Gaudette in the legendary sitcom La Petite Vie.

Sylvie has appeared as a celebrity judge on the stand-up comedy reality series En Route Vers Mon Premier Gala Juste Pour Rire. As a dialect coach, she most recently worked with Sam Riley in preparation for his French Canadian role in the 2012 feature film On the Road.

A sought-after acting teacher, Sylvie Potvin also spent 20 years as a performer and coach with the celebrated improv group Ligue Nationale d'Improvisation (now popular in over 30 countries), touring Argentina, Europe and West Africa.

Sylvie’s other film credits include Le Journal d'Aurélie Laflamme, Yves Simoneau's Free Money, and, after appearing as the goaltender’s wife in the madcap feature film series Les Boys, she currently stars in the spin-off TV series about the amateur hockey league. Sylvie also stars in the new sitcom Rock et Rolland, opposite comedic legend Michel Barrette.

On stage, Sylvie has performed at renowned Montréal theatres including Théâtre du Nouveau Monde, Théâtre La Licorne and Théâtre du Rideau Vert, and has toured Quebec in a production of Molière’s Le Malade Imaginaire from 2008 to 2013.
